Appurtenance Locations Dialog

Opens when Appurtenance Locations is selected in the Superstructure group.

Add

Press the Add button to add a new appurtenance to the bridge model.

Delete

Press the Delete button to delete the currently selected appurtenance.

Save DGN

The following button will export the Appurtenance locations 2D model directly and accurately to Microstation DGN file format, including layers. Save the DGN file in the desired location and once the export is successful you can browse to file location and open/view in Microstation.

Appurtenance Type Select the appurtenance type to be located. Appurtenance types include:
  • Parapet
  • Sidework
  • Median
  • Railing
  • General
Appurtenance Name Select the appurtenance name for the appurtenance type specified in the previous step. The drop down list will show all appurtenances currently stored in the library for that type.
Reference Element Select one of the three reference elements:
  • Alignment -- the appurtenance will be located laterally relative to the alignment centerline.
  • Left Edge of Slab -- the appurtenance will be located laterally relative to the left edge of slab.
  • Right Edge of Slab -- the appurtenance will be located laterally relative to the right edge of slab.
Reference Offset Enter the offset in feet that the appurtenance is to be located from the reference element.
Reference Location Enter the location on the appurtenance that is used to locate it relative to the reference element. There are three options:
  • Centerline -- the centerline of the appurtenance is used as its location reference.
  • Inside Face -- the inside face of the appurtenance is used as its location reference.
  • Outside Face -- the outside face of the appurtenance is used as its location reference.
Reference Back To locate the appurtenance longitudinally, select one of the existing supports from the drop-down list as the back (down station) reference.
Reference Method Enter the location on the appurtenance that is used to locate it relative to the reference element. There are three options:
  • Along alignment - offset distances are measured along the alignment.
  • Perpendicular to support - offset distances are measured perpendicular to the referenced back support.
Offset Enter the offset distance in feet to locate the back end.
Reference Ahead To locate the appurtenance longitudinally, select one of the existing supports from the drop-down list as the ahead (up station) reference.
Reference Method Select one of two reference methods for the back end of the appurtenance:
  • Along alignment - offset distances are measured along the alignment.
  • Perpendicular to support - offset distances are measured perpendicular to the referenced back support.
Offset Enter the offset distance in feet to locate the ahead end of the appurtenance.
